The nation’s decorating habits revealed!


It’s no secret that us Brits love to decorate our homes and now a survey of 1,000 UK homeowners has revealed just how much – and how often - we like to grab that paintbrush or re-design our interiors.

The survey carried out by interiors etailer, found more than half (55%) of Brits say they have a room in their house that currently needs decorating, while 1 in 4 Brits admit to constantly decorating their home.

The research looked in to decorating habits of the nation, and revealed that the lounge or living room is decorated, on average, every 25 months. This is followed by the bedroom, every 29 months and the dining room every 33 months while the bathroom will be decorated every 37 months. That’s a whole lot of paint, wallpaper and furniture shopping!!

When quizzed on the time it takes to decorate a room, respondents cite on average 9.5 days to finish the job and 22% say they finish one room and move straight on to the next.

1 in 4 Brits say they re-decorate regularly to keep up with interiors trends, while 19% say they to do it for enjoyment.
