Summer is here, and that calls for BBQs, garden lounging, and soaking up the sun at home. But before you dive into the fun, make sure your home is ready for the season.

Here’s a few simple maintenance tasks you can do to get everything ready for summer living.

Clean footpaths, patio and decking

Start your summer home maintenance by giving your paths, patio, decking, and driveway a good once-over.

Look out for cracks or weeds, then bring out the pressure washer to blast away all the grime winter left behind.

Touch up paint or stain on exterior surfaces

After a good clean, your outside surfaces may need a paint or stain top-up. But before you start this task make sure to check the weather forecast and pick a dry, mild day.

A new coat not only brightens up your outdoor space but also protects against the elements—perfect for creating a clean, inviting area to enjoy all summer long.

Mow the lawn and trim back trees

There’s nothing like the look and feel of a freshly cut lawn and neatly pruned trees to welcome in the summer season.

Regular mowing keeps your grass healthy and green, while trimming back branches opens up your garden space, letting in light for a more vibrant garden.

Clean windows

There’s nothing like a bright summer day to inspire a little window cleaning. Harsh weather in other seasons leaves behind streaks, grime, and water spots that blur your view.

A thorough soapy wash or a professional clean now means you can enjoy the outdoors from inside, crystal-clear and smudge-free!

Clear out our kitchen cupboards

It’s not just exterior tasks that need doing in the summer, inside jobs like a kitchen cupboard clear-out are just as important.

It’s a perfect chance to throw away expired items, wipe down shelves, and make space for what you actually use the most.

You’ll feel more organised and maybe even find meal inspiration in the process!
