Transport in Angus

Getting around from our new build homes Angus is easy, with great road, rail and air links connecting you to the rest of Scotland and beyond.

By car, the A90 runs right through Angus, linking Dundee with Aberdeen to the north and Edinburgh to the south, while the nearby M90 makes trips further into central Scotland simple. The A92 also follows the coast, giving you a scenic route through towns like Arbroath, Montrose and Stonehaven.

For rail travel, Dundee Station is the main hub in the area, with regular services to Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as direct trains to London. Local stations in Arbroath, Carnoustie and Montrose also make commuting and regional travel straightforward.

There are plenty of bus services too, with operators like Stagecoach running regular routes across towns and villages in Angus, perfect for everyday journeys.

And if you’re heading abroad, Dundee Airport has you covered with short-haul flights, while Edinburgh and Aberdeen airports are both within easy reach by car, giving you access to destinations right across Europe.

Shopping in Angus

When it comes to shopping near our new builds in Angus, you’ll find a great mix of independent stores, local markets and larger retail centres.

For fresh local produce, the Arbroath Market is a must-visit, with stalls selling all sorts of food, drink and gifts. Montrose and Forfar also host regular markets, giving you plenty of chances to pick up local treats and handcrafted gifts.

Mill of Inverarity Farm Shop, just south of Forfar, is also worth a stop, offering top-quality Angus beef and lamb direct from the farm, plus a convenient click-and-collect service for your busy schedule.

For a bigger shopping trip, head into Dundee where you’ll find the Overgate Centre, packed with high street favourites, fashion stores and cafés for a quick pit stop. The Wellgate Centre also offers a range of shops and handy services, making it a convenient spot for day-to-day essentials.

In pretty Auchmithie, The But’n’Ben is a long-time favourite for comforting, seafood-led Scottish cooking just north of Arbroath. Down on the harbour in Arbroath itself, The Old Boatyard serves fresh, locally sourced seafood with views across the marina, ideal for a relaxed lunch or a cosy dinner.

Heading a little north to Montrose you’ll find Roo’s Leap, an Australian themed diner known for being casual, friendly and great for families.

Prefer a countryside setting? Sinclair’s Kitchen, just outside Forfar, champions modern Scottish cooking in a relaxed, rural spot.

For a special occasion, book Gordon’s Restaurant in Inverkeilor: an intimate fine-dining spot included in the Michelin Guide and known for refined, seasonal Scottish menus.
