All of this, right on your doorstep

Looking for activities near our new builds in Leicester? Rest assured, the city is filled with things to do.

For example, there are many museums to visit if you want to explore its history, including the King Richard III Visitor Centre, where you can discover all about his incredible life through interactive displays.

Furthermore, families can expect a truly out of this world experience at the award-winning National Space Centre. However, if it’s something more active you’re after, then Treetop Golf Leicester and Ninja Warrior UK, an indoor adventure park where children can face a range of obstacles, are both fantastic choices.

Two major events that also take place annually are Leicester Comedy Festival, which spans three weeks in February, and the largest Diwali Festival outside of India, celebrating South Asian culture throughout October and November.

And when sunny days come around, head over to Bradgate Park, where you'll find waterfalls and plenty of greenery, as well as the Old John Tower, a famous landmark in Leicestershire.

Transport in Leicester

Whether you're commuting from our new build homes in Leicester or visiting friends and family, the city has many great transport options.

With the M1 and M69 motorways nearby, Leicester is perfectly set up for travelling by car with ease. The M1 offers connections to the north and south of the country, while the M69 allows for travel to and from Coventry in the West Midlands and connects to the M6 if you need to get to Birmingham, Manchester or Liverpool.

In terms of public transport, Leicester train station offers direct links to London, Leeds and Nottingham, while the city also has an excellent bus system thanks to providers like First Bus and Centrebus, allowing for easy travel in and around Leicester, as well as to nearby towns, such as Loughborough.

And for anyone wanting to travel further afield, East Midlands Airport is 20 miles away and reachable in less than an hour by car or on the Skylink bus.

Shopping in Leicester

If you're after high street brands, Highcross Leicester shopping centre will be your go to from our new builds in Leicester, as it’s home to more than 150 shops. And if the shopping makes you hungry or you need a break, you can grab a bite to eat at one of the many cafés and restaurants on-site or even watch a film at the Showcase Cinema de Lux.

Another great shopping destination is Haymarket Shopping Centre, which has more than 60 shops ready to explore.

Slightly outside Leicester’s centre, you'll also find Beaumont Shopping Centre, which offers a range of popular shops. Fosse Park, one of the largest out-of-town shopping parks in Britain, is also located just south of the city and is open late every weekday.

As for the very best local produce, including fresh, high-quality meat, fruit, vegetables, bread, pastries, and more, these can be found at Leicester Market, open Monday to Saturday.

Want to try Indian street food in a date night setting? Mowgli Street Food has a stunning interior with swing seats and serves a range of authentic Indian dishes.

Meat lovers will also be spoilt for choice across the city, since the best burgers in region can arguably be found at Crafty Burger. However, if you prefer a good steak, then Mabel Lounge will be your new go-to.

Elsewhere, Barceloneta has a range of tapas to choose from if you enjoy Mediterranean food, while authentic Italian dishes can be found at Casa Romana and Sapori.

You can also try charcoal-grilled Turkish cuisine at Istanbul Restaurant, or discover mouth-watering Eastern European dishes at Tatra Eastern Corner.
