Restyle your console table with these tips from HAUS Interiors

Console2

Restyling is the cheapest, least messy and most instant way to create an impact in your current home.

My love of styling home accessories was where I started my career in interior design, and I find it the most instantly satisfying part of my job. Never underestimate the impact well styled accessories can have in your home!

I have created a short video of myself styling a console table in three different ways, with accessories I have lying around the home. Paired with my top tips below, I hope it inspires you to give it a go, whether it be shelving, a coffee table or sideboard!

Balance

It is important to balance out your accessories in height and width. I always make sure that I mix up the shapes of my accessories, starting with the tallest vase or sculpture first. If you need to add height, but don’t have a tall vase, add some fresh or dried foliage to a smaller one

Colour

Colour is so subjective, but it is always fun to add a splash, which can be toned down with more muted accessories. Grounding your arrangement with a darker ceramic vase or candle will add depth to your display.

Positioning

You want to create impact in all the right places, so avoid spreading out your accessories across one surface. Grouping a selection together creates more impact. Don’t be afraid of empty space!

If you are looking to purchase something new, then why not look at smaller online retailers. They hand pick products from suppliers all over the world, and offer you some really unusual statement pieces.
