Transport in Earl Shilton

The A47 runs through Earl Shilton, which connects it to some of the major cities and towns in Leicestershire. The bus operators Arriva Midlands and Stagecoach Midlands both offer regular services from Earl Shilton to Leicester, Hinckley, and Nuneaton, as well as several services within Earl Shilton itself.

There is also easy access to the nearby Hinckley train station, a 12 minute drive from the Avant Homes development.

From Hinckley station commuters can catch services to Birmingham, Cambridge, Gloucester, Leicester, Narborough, Nuneaton, as well as Stansted Airport – the UK’s fourth largest airport.

Two neighbouring villages are Barwell and Elmesthorpe which are both within a 30 minute walk of the development.

Popular things to do in and around Earl Shilton

For those looking for local activities, Earl Shilton is very close to Hinckley which offers a large variety.

There’s the Hinckley Leisure Centre, only a 12 -minute drive from our Sheltone Village development, which offers a gym and a pool amongst other amenities.

Hinckley is also home to Bubbles Activity Play, a play park for children of all ages, with a soft play area and climbing frames galore!

Outside of Hinckley, there’s also the Twycross Zoo, with its Gruffalo Discovery Land, which is sure to go down a treat with the little ones!

Then of course there’s Leicester, home to one of the largest markets in Europe and the famous National Space Centre, as well as the popular Curve Theatre.


Schools in Earl Shilton

There are four primary schools within a five minute drive of our Sheltone Village development:
- Townlands Church of England Primary School
- St Simon and St Jude Church of England Primary School
- Newlands Community Primary School
- Oakfield South Short Stay School

All of which cater for children aged 4-11, apart from Oakfield South, which is for children aged 5-11.

There are also nursery options available in the town, including Little Stars Pre School which takes in kids from 0-5, just a five minute drive from our development.

And literally just a six minute walk down the road from our development, there’s Heath Lane Academy, a secondary school which caters for children aged 11-16.
