Work starts on £28m, 113-home Hay Green Park development near Barnsley

Avant Homes West Yorkshire has started construction on a nine-acre site near Barnsley to deliver 113 new-build homes with a gross development value (GDV) of around £28m.
Located on Hay Green Lane between Tankersley and Birdwell, the development will comprise a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes and feature 12 of Avant Homes' house types.
Prices of homes range from £199,995 for a two-bedroom mid terrace property to £379,995 for a four-bedroom detached house.
Called Hay Green Park, the development received planning permission in March this year. The overall build programme is estimated to take approximately two and a half years.
Of the 113 homes being built, 10 per cent have been designated to affordable housing. Avant Homes has also committed to a community contribution of around £970,000 to support local primary and secondary education, a sustainable travel plan and open green space.
The showhome is due to open this October with the first homes set to be ready for occupation in November.
