Aspiring homeowners in Scotland could soon receive a helping hand onto the property ladder, following the Scottish Government's recent announcement that the First Homes Fund Scotland is set to relaunch later this month.

The scheme will offer eligible first-time buyers up to £10,000 towards their deposit when purchasing a home, helping make homeownership more accessible for those looking to buy their first property.

Expected to start by the end of June, the shared-equity initiative will be available on homes valued up to £300,000. The Scottish Government has indicated that the scheme is expected to support around 2,000 buyers during its initial launch period, with longer-term plans to help up to 50,000 first-time buyers over the course of the current Parliament.

As this is a government-backed scheme, eligibility criteria will apply. Buyers are encouraged to review the full details once available and speak to a financial/mortgage adviser to understand how the scheme could support their home buying journey.

Further information on the application process and eligibility requirements is expected when the scheme officially launches at the end of June.

With a range of developments located across Scotland, there's never been a better time to start your home buying journey.
