The
housebuilder brought together 30 subcontractors from across its supply chain
for the golf event, which raised vital funds for the cancer charity.
Founded
by Andrew Smillie in 2016 in memory of his daughter Emmie, the Emmie Smillie
Charity Foundation supports cancer-related organisations, hospices and
palliative care services across Glasgow and the west of Scotland.
Run
entirely by volunteers, 100 per cent of the funds raised by the Foundation are
distributed directly to beneficiary organisations.
Andrew
Smillie, chair of the Emmie Smillie Charity Foundation, said: “We were both humbled and delighted
to be nominated by Avant Homes as one of the beneficiaries of their golf day.
“The event itself was fantastic and the
incredible amount raised was fantastic. This remarkable contribution will go a
very long way in helping us achieve our aims and goals throughout the year.”
The
Emmie Smillie Charity Foundation aims to unite individuals, companies and
organisations to make a meaningful difference to those affected by cancer.
Bryan
Galloway, construction director at Avant Homes Scotland, commented: “We are
proud to support the Emmie Smillie Charity Foundation and it’s fantastic to
have raised £5,900 for such an important cause.
“This event
was an opportunity to bring together our partners and their generosity
highlights our shared commitment to giving back to the communities in which we are
building.
“The
Emmie Smillie Charity Foundation carries out vital work for those living with
cancer and we are pleased to play our part in supporting that mission.”
