Avant Homes North East has announced the release for sale of three affordable homes at its £28m, 135-home Brompton Mews development in Catterick.

Located just four miles from Richmond town centre on Cookson Way, the development comprises a mix of semi-detached and detached two-, three and four-bedroom homes.

The three affordable homes available are on the Durham County Council-backed discount market sale (DMS) scheme which offers eligible buyers 20 per cent off the market value price.

The DMS scheme homes are a three-bedroom Baildon house type discounted to £185,000 and a three-bedroom Ripon and two-bedroom Askern discounted to £169,000 and £145,000 respectively.

All three properties benefit from Avant Homes’ signature practical design and energy efficiency. Each home also features a generous double bedroom, a spacious lounge, a modern kitchen/dining room with integrated appliances, bi-fold doors to the rear gardens and dedicated utility rooms.

The DMS scheme provides access to homes while enabling buyers to attain 100 per cent ownership and financial savings, making owning a new home more achievable and affordable.

Avant Homes North East sales and marketing director, Miranda Parry, said: “As a business, we are committed to providing quality new homes for everyone, so we are very pleased to be able to offer these three DMS scheme properties at Brompton Mews.

“We want to help people make their ideal next move a reality and our Baildon, Ripon and Askern house types are all excellent homes suitable for first time buyers and families.

“Should anyone be interested in buying one of these homes all they have to do is to speak to our sales advisor at Brompton Mews. We can then discuss the eligibility criteria and help them apply to the council.”

To be eligible to buy a discounted home, buyers need to meet criteria relating to their local connection and how much they earn. The DMS scheme at Brompton Mews is not limited to first time buyers and the decision on eligibility rests with the council.

Prices for the other available homes at Brompton Mews range from £229,995 for a three-bedroom semi-detached property to £304,995 for a four-bedroom detached family home.

Selected plots at Brompton Mews, other than those in the DMS scheme, also benefit from a range of incentives. These include part exchange and military discount, with eligible individuals able to claim a £500 contribution for every £25,000 of the purchase price.
