Avant Homes agrees to £16.7m first Nottingham Community Housing Association deal to deliver 82 new homes at Foxgrove Village, Clifton

Avant Homes is constructing 82 new homes for Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) in Clifton after agreeing a £16.7m deal with the housing provider.

The partnership marks another important step in Avant Homes’ delivery of its multi-tenure strategy. The deal is the first the housebuilder has secured with NCHA and comprises a package of S106 and Homes England grant-funded affordable homes.

Avant Homes’ multi-tenure strategy seeks to maximise housing supply though the provision of quality new homes for private sale, the private rental sector (PRS) and additional affordable housing.

Construction of the new energy efficient homes at Foxgrove Village is well underway, with the housing mix being delivered comprising two-, three- and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached properties.

The first homes are anticipated to be handed over to NCHA this summer and all the homes are expected to be completed before summer 2027.

Commenting on the partnership deal, Avant Homes group head of affordable housing delivery, Phil Lacey, said: “We’re very pleased to secure this first deal with NCHA to provide new affordable homes in Clifton for the people who need them the most.

“Foxgrove Village has proven hugely successful and NCHA’s practically designed, energy-efficient homes will further contribute to the growing and diverse community at the development.

“Our multi-tenure strategy is focused on delivering quality new homes for everyone and we look forward to continue working with NCHA on future deals as part of this commitment.”

Avant Homes has secured a near term pipeline of more than 1,000 affordable homes to be delivered across 17 developments. This is in addition to more than 300 Section 106 affordable homes which are currently under construction.

The housebuilder’s new homes typically have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of B or above, which is considered excellent for energy efficiency.

Nottingham-based Avant Homes East Midlands currently has live developments ranging from in Mickleover to Deacon Meadows in Uppingham.

Fran Cropper, new business and development manager at NCHA, said, “We’re proud to be working with Avant Homes on this exciting new development in Clifton in Nottingham City. At NCHA, our mission is to provide high-quality, affordable homes where they’re needed most, and this partnership helps us do exactly that.

“These new homes will offer families a safe, energy-efficient place to call home and support the continued growth of a vibrant, sustainable community at Foxgrove Village. Nottingham is an absolute priority for investment for NCHA to help alleviate the growing housing waiting list, so we are delighted to deliver these homes for families.”
