Living in Cullingworth

Cullingworth is a beautiful farming village in West Yorkshire that helps connect the surrounding areas together.

A civil parish in the City of Bradford, Cullingworth’s convenient location - situated where the B6144 meets the B6429 – has made the village a tempting option for Yorkshire commuters looking for a central spot to call home.

A great place to live for a young professional and/or a young family, Cullingworth is a relatively small village – as of 2020 it was estimated that Cullingworth had a population of 3436 – but is quickly growing thanks to its commuter-friendly central location and highly rated schools.

A great place for families with young children, Cullingworth’s early years' education facilities are highly renowned, with its preschool, the Cullingworth Preschool, being rated “outstanding” by Ofsted.

The village is also home to a primary school, Cullingworth Village Primary School. and a secondary school, Parkside School, for older kids.

Cullingworth also boasts a village hall that can be rented out for private events and contains a nursery which many parents take advantage of during term time.

Aside from that, the village has a local cricket club with 2 senior and junior teams. If you are into your sports, heading down to watch a game is not a bad way to spend your weekend.

With a number of farm shops on offer and a warm and friendly community, Cullingworth is a wonderful place to live.

One of the larger and more popular supermarkets in Cullingworth is the Co-op food on Halifax Road and there are also a number of local, organic farm shops to choose from.

The village is served by 2 main bus operators:

1.) Keighley Bus Company - that offers regular bus service to neighboring Yorkshire towns, Keighley and Bradford

2.) First West Yorkshire – which offers an hourly service to Halifax on Sundays.

From Keighley or Bradford, residents are able to travel further afield as both towns offer direct railway services to the likes of Leeds, Morecombe, and Carlisle.
