For anyone wanting to travel by bus, the area is well served by Lothian Buses. Various services run frequently from The Wisp bus stop, offering direct routes into the city centre (via the hourly X33 route), as well as connections to other spots such as Musselburgh (bus number 46) on the coast.

By car, the city bypass (A720) is only minutes away, giving you quick access to the A1, M8 and M9 motorways – ideal for travelling across central Scotland and beyond to hubs like London, Newcastle and Doncaster.

Things to do around Edinburgh

Despite being so close to the city, you’ll still find plenty of green areas nearby, such as Dalkeith Country Park and Little France Park, both less than 10 minutes away by car. With the heart of Edinburgh within easy reach, you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to food and drink. Stop by the popular Dishoom for mouth-watering Indian food, or Gordon’s Trattoria for a traditional Italian menu with a Scottish twist.

Schools in Edinburgh

If your children are aged 11 to 18, the nearest secondary schools are Gracemount High School and Liberton High School, both well-served by public transport and easy to drive to (less than a 10-minute drive).
