This former mining town has been rejuvenated to meet the needs of its modern residents, with a whole host of bars, cafes, and eateries now in the area. Clay Cross also has a wide selection of primary and secondary schools, making Egstow Park the ideal location for families. Tupton Hall Secondary School and Park House Primary School can both be reached in less than 10 minutes.

Kenning Park is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon with the family or take a walk alongside Smithy Brook to stretch your legs. Nearby Hallgate Pond and Chesterfield Community Farm both give you the chance to take in some fresh Derbyshire air. Further afield, the idyllic Ogston Reservoir is a walker’s paradise, while the historic Hardwick Old Hall can be reached in under 20 minutes by car.

North of Clay Cross is the bustling town of Chesterfield, giving you the chance to shop until you drop at the likes of Ravenside Retail Park, Vicar Lane Shopping Centre, and Chesterfield Market. Cineworld Chesterfield and the Winding Wheel Theatre are perfect for getting your entertainment fix too.

Egstow Park is ideal for those needing to commute further afield too. To the west of the development, the A61 offers easy access to Chesterfield to the north and Alfreton to the south – both are around a 20-minute drive away. You can also reach the M1 efficiently by heading east on the A1675, allowing hassle-free connections to Sheffield and Mansfield. The nearest train stations can be found in the centre of Chesterfield and Alfreton.
