One of the region’s most unique attractions is the English Waterways. Spanning across the whole of the Midlands, the region’s canals offer visitors a unique experience whether on or off the water, with some amazing attractions to explore along the way.

At the heart of England, the West Midlands has an incredible heritage with castles, country houses, and a window into the industrial past through the region’s intricate canal network. There are so many stories to be told from kingmakers at Warwick Castle, the conspirators in the gunpowder plot, and revolutionising the motor industry.

Most recently the region’s heritage has been played out on an international stage through the infamous BBC Peaky Blinders drama series, set out in the 1920s. Visitors can walk in the footsteps of the Shelbys at the Black Country Living Museum – the official home of Peaky Blinders

If retail therapy is your thing, the West Midlands has a vast array of shops for you to peruse - from big malls and outlets to boutique and independent stores.

The Bull Ring in Birmingham brings you all your high street and designer favourites. With a creche, two soft play areas, and Treetop Adventure Golf, a day spent here will benefit the whole family. Coventry also has three major shopping centres, West Orchards, Lower Precinct, and Arena.

Hatton Shopping Village sits in the rolling Warwickshire countryside and offers a variety of independent shops, a garden centre, outdoor markets, cafes, and eateries serving locally sourced produce. A place to get lost in for the day.

Transport

With major transport hubs at Birmingham, Coventry, and Warwick, access to the rest of the UK and other major cities is simple and hassle-free. 5 motorways linking the West Midlands to the north and south of England make travelling by car easy.
