Transport in Allesley

The village of Allesley has several transport connections to Coventry, including regular buses that run through the village every 20 minutes. Buses from Allesley take about 12 minutes to get to the city centre, making public transport a nice option for a day out.

Coventry’s main train station is an 11-minute drive away from our homes, giving an easy route to local towns such as Leamington Spa and Warwick. If planning a trip to go further afield, the train station also has direct links to Birmingham, London, and even Glasgow. 

Prefer to walk? You can reach Coventry in under an hour on foot.

Things to do in Allesley and Coventry

Being near the lively and diverse city, Coventry offers thriving nightlife and a wide selection of well-recommended restaurants great for city-goers, while its nature reserves and museums are relaxing places to unwind. 

A great option for a big day out with the kids is the Wave Waterpark, which is one of the UK’s largest and newest indoor waterparks. The Coventry ODEON cinema is also only a quick 8-minute drive from Allesley Heights. 

Allesley has several footpaths for dog walks, such as Allesley Park, as well as woodland and riverside routes. It also features a church, several schools, a community library, local shops, and a parcel locker for deliveries.

The village hosts an annual festival - the Allesley festival - as well as a scarecrow competition.

Schools in Allesley

14-minute walk away from Allesley Heights is Allesley Primary School, for children aged 3-11.  It offers assemblies and enrichment activities such as sports competitions, festival performances, and school trips.

A 17-minute walk away is Allesley Hall, another primary school for ages 4-11, offering before and after school clubs, as well as holiday camps. 

For secondary level children, there is West Coventry Academy, a mixed gender secondary school for 11-18 year olds and sixth form college. 

There is also Sherbourne Fields, just a four-minute drive from our homes. It is an all-age school for children with a broad range of needs.
