Located a 4-minute drive from the A635, our new build homes in Thurnscoe make travelling to either Barnsley or Doncaster very easy, with both towns reachable in less than 25 minutes.

The Marr roundabout for the A1(M) is also 5 miles away, allowing swift access to routes up and down the country.

Thurnscoe railway station is just 12 minutes away on foot, where you can catch hourly services to Leeds and Sheffield, with stops at Rotherham and Wakefield.

For residents wanting to take the bus into Barnsley, the 226 route provided by Stagecoach runs by the Bridge Lane stop, located 5 minutes away on foot. There is also the 203 service going to Doncaster from the High Street/Kingsway stop a 6-minute walk away.

And for any international travel, Leeds Bradford Airport is just over an hour away via the A1(M) or the M1, opening doors to sunny destinations for a well-deserved holiday.

Things to do near Thurnscoe

Our new builds in Thurnscoe are located a 20-minute walk from Phoenix Park, where you’ll find everything from walking trails to a giant dinosaur (unfortunately fake), making it a great destination for a family day out.

Brodsworth Hall is 5 miles away (a 12-minute drive), where you can visit both the Victorian house and its gardens, as well as grab a spot of afternoon tea to round it all off.

Avid and beginner golfers alike will also be happy to know that Thorn Wood Gardens is located less than 3 miles away from two great golf clubs: Hickleton Golf Club and Sandhill Golf Club.

Residents after a breakfast or a quick bite will want to head over to Marcopaulos in nearby Goldthorpe, while Huby’s Fish Bar in Thurnscoe is the area’s local fish and chips shop.

The closest option for secondary education is Astrea Academy Dearne (for ages 11-16) in Goldthorpe, a 6-minute drive away, while The Laurel Academy (ages 11-16) in Mexborough offers a good alternative and can be reached by car in 11 minutes.

As well as Gooseacre Primary Academy, which looks after children as young as 2, the Thurnscoe Family Centre will look after little ones aged between 2 and 4 and is 18 minutes away on foot, making the area a great place for young families to settle down.

And for anyone looking for local higher education, Barnsley College and Doncaster College can be found in their town centres, while the University of Sheffield is less than 45 minutes away by car.
