The A635 is a quick 4-minute drive away from Houghton Place, allowing you to quickly head west to Barnsley or east to Doncaster.

Marr Roundabout is 10 minutes away by car, allowing you to get onto the A1(M) for any further travel up and down the country. The M1 is also less than 10 miles away, allowing you to reach Sheffield in around 40 minutes by car.

The nearest train station is in Thurnscoe, less than 2 miles away. From there, you can hop onto hourly trains to either Sheffield or Leeds.

There are also two bus stops situated less than a 5-minute walk from Houghton Place where you can catch Stagecoach’s 219/219a service running every hour between Barnsley and Doncaster.

For international travel, Humberside Airport is located less than an hour’s drive away and offers flights to Amsterdam, Bulgaria and even Lapland!

There are also alternatives a little further out, with Gooseacre Primary Academy (ages 2-11) located a 4-minute drive away and Ladywood Primary School (ages 3-11) in Grimethorpe 10 minutes away by car.

Parents looking for secondary school options will find them at Netherwood Academy (ages 11-16), an 11-minute drive away, and at Astrea Academy Dearne (also ages 11-16), less than 4 miles away.
