Living in Glasgow Southside

Transport in Glasgow Southside

Thanks to their central location, our new build flats in Glasgow Southside make travelling around the city and beyond extremely easy.

With the M74 a quick 4-minute drive away, getting to and from anywhere in Scotland by car from the development has never been easier, allowing residents to reach the likes of Ayr and Falkirk in less than an hour.

For anyone wanting to travel by train, Dalmarnock station is the closest to Richmond Heights, accessible on foot in 18 minutes. From there you can hop onto regular services to Glasgow Central, Motherwell and Dalmuir.

Getting into Glasgow city centre by bus is also a breeze, as the very regular First Bus 21 and 267 lines run via the Polmadie Road bus stop, which is a quick 5-minute walk away from the development. The 267 also goes all the way to Cambuslang and Hamilton.

And if you fancy heading somewhere sunnier for a well-deserved holiday, Glasgow Airport can be reached in around 15 minutes by car via the M8, offering direct flights to the likes of Budapest and Dubai.

Things to do around Glasgow Southside

Close to the River Clyde, the location of our new apartments in Glasgow Southside allows for plenty of walks along the river banks when the weather permits.

Richmond Park is also on your doorstep, where residents have access to a football pitch, a play area for the kids, and can also observe wildlife at the pond, where herons and otters among other species, are known to reside.

On a rainy day, you have the whole of Glasgow’s cultural heritage on your doorstep, whether it be watching a play at Theatre Royal Glasgow or visiting the Gallery of Modern Art.

Richmond Heights also has several restaurants within walking distance, with great eateries such as Cocobana Caribbean Restaurant and Garlic & Thyme easily accessible across the river.

As for any sort of shopping, look no further than the centre of Glasgow, where you will find all the shops you can imagine and more in the likes of Princes Square and St. Enoch Centre.

Schools in Glasgow Southside

Families with young children will find several options in terms of primary schools near our new flats in Glasgow.

These include Hampden School (for ages 5-14), a quick 7-minute walk from Richmond Heights, and St Francis Primary (ages 4-12), a bit further out but still an easy 16-minute walk away.

The latter has a partnership with Holyrood Secondary School (for ages 11-18), located a 24-minute walk away, allowing for a smooth transition into the latter stages of educations for local children.

St Francis Primary also has a nursery class for younger children from the age of 3. Another option is Smiley Stars Crosshill nursery, less than 10 minutes away by car, which cares for little ones from as young as 6 weeks old all the way to the age of 5.

And if someone in the family is looking for local higher education, both the University of Strathclyde and the University of Glasgow are easily accessible from Richmond Heights.
