Transport in Dundee

Craigowl Law is perfectly placed for commuters, with excellent transport links. Strathmartine Road is a 3-minute drive away and takes you into Dundee city centre in under 15 minutes. The A90 is also less than 10 minutes away, offering routes to Forfar, Perth, and onward to Edinburgh via the M90.

Just over 5 miles away is Dundee Station, where you can catch regular trains towards Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow, providing fantastic links to major transport hubs for travel all over the UK.

The closest bus stop is St Martin’s Avenue, just an 11-minute stroll away. From here, you can catch the 22 service which runs regularly between Craigowl and Ninewells Hospital to the west of Dundee, passing through the city centre.

As for travelling by plane, Dundee Airport less than a 20-minute drive from our new build homes in Dundee. The airport provides direct flights to Sumburgh in the Shetland Islands, as well as London Heathrow – where you can hop on flights to take you all over the world.

Things to do around Dundee

Just a stone’s throw from our new builds in Dundee, Clatto Country Park offers a reservoir, watersports, play areas, and picnic spots – all perfect for outdoor fun. Nature lovers will also be thrilled to have Camperdown Wildlife Centre just a 15-minute drive away, which is home to a huge variety of animals and birds.

Dundee city centre can be reached in less than 15 minutes by car, with top attractions like the V&A Dundee, the first Victoria and Albert museum outside London, while amateur and pro golfers alike will particularly enjoy Downfield Golf Club, a Championship-level course just an 8-minute drive away.

Foodies are in for a treat too, with central Dundee packed full of delicious eateries serving food from all around the world. Stop by Más for quality Mexican dishes, try Piccolo for authentic Italian flavours, or sample Spanish tapas at Gallery 48.

Doing your weekly shop won’t be difficult, with Lidl, Tesco and Asda all within 2 miles of Craigowl Law. Plus, Kingsway West Retail Park and Overgate Shopping Centre are both within easy reach, putting all your favourite high-street shops right on your doorstep.

Schools in Dundee

Families looking to settle down in Scotland will be glad to know there are many excellent schools catering to children of all ages surrounding our new build homes in Dundee.

The closest primary schools are Strathmartine Primary School and Craigowl Primary School, catering for children aged 3 to 12. Both schools are just a 5-minute drive from our new builds in Dundee, or less than a 30-minute walk.

For older children aged 11 to 16, the nearest secondary school is Baldragon Academy, reachable in 5 minutes by car or 20 minutes by bus. St Paul’s Roman Catholic Academy is also just an 8-minute drive away.

If you have older children aged 16 or up, Dundee and Angus College has a campus nearby and offers a huge choice of more than 900 courses. You can get there in less than 10 minutes by car, or 40 minutes by bus.

There’s also a variety of nurseries nearby for the youngest family members, including Little People Nursery for 2 to 5-year-olds and Balgillo Nursery Ardler Village for children aged 0 to 5.
