Why buy one of our new build homes in Leicestershire?

All of this, right on your doorstep

Living in our new build homes in Leicestershire means you’ll have no shortage of things to do and attractions to enjoy.

Steeped in over 2,000 years of history, the county is home to landmarks spanning the Roman, Medieval, Tudor, and Industrial eras. Among these is Belvoir Castle, which has stood proudly for more than 900 years. Explore its impressive state rooms, discover centuries of royal connections, and enjoy breathtaking views of castle grounds.

One of Leicestershire’s other most iconic attractions is the National Space Centre. Not only does it have over 150 interactive experiences, but a favourite part among visitors is the 42-meter-high Rocket Tower. This iconic, translucent structure houses large-scale original artifacts like the British Blue Streak rocket and a genuine piece of Moon rock.

If you’re looking for culture, Leicester’s Cultural Quarter, is packed with creativity, bursting with independent cinemas, live music venues, galleries, and delicious restaurants. The street art is something to be admired, too!

Another family favourite is Twinlakes Park: and indoor and outdoor park that combines exciting rides and play areas with farm animals and birds of prey. The park also runs events throughout the year, such as fireworks displays for Bonfire Night and Party in the Park with Santa at Christmas.

Transport in Leicestershire

Offering a multitude of impressive transport links, travelling and commuting from our new build homes in Leicestershire is a breeze.

The M1 runs through the heart of the county, enabling easy travel to the North and South, and the M69 connects to Coventry. The A46 skirts Leicester and is the dual-carriageway eastern bypass, and the A5, A6, A50, and A47 all provide transport routes across the county and beyond.

For mainline railway services, Leicester railway station connects directly to London St Pancras (taking around 75 minutes), Sheffield, Nottingham, and Derby. Additional regional stations such as Loughborough, Melton Mowbray, and Hinckley also provide reliable commuter routes.

If you prefer travelling by bus or coach, operators such as Arriva, Kinchbus, and Centrebus cover the whole county, and a multi-operator saver ticket, the Leicester Flexi, makes travelling on multiple routes more cost friendly. Leicester city has a free city centre circular bus that runs every ten minutes between transit and shopping hubs, and there are also three dedicated park and ride sites at Birstall, Enderby, and Meynell's Gorse.

For international holiday-goers, East Midlands Airport is also located within the county.

Shopping in Leicestershire

Leicestershire is home to a selection of shopping outlets and villages that span everything from high street favourites to independent retailers.

Highcross shopping centre is one of the county's main shopping destinations, a go-to for high-street favourites, health and beauty, the latest tech, and more. It's based in the city centre and offers dining and entertainment alongside retail therapy. Another quieter option is Fosse Park, situated on the outskirts of Leicester, which is an open-air shopping destination, as opposed to an enclosed mall.

However, if you prefer seeing what independent stores have to offer or enjoy a more charming shopping experience, there are plenty of market towns surrounding many of our new homes in Leicestershire.

The historic town of Market Harborough, for example, is home to Farndon Fields, an award-winning farm shop that sells fresh produce grown on the farm, quality meat from local farmers, and a large selection of other British food classics.

Croft Car Boot is another of Leicestershire's retail options, although a more unconventional one. Open every Sunday and Bank Holiday, the car boot hosts hundreds of traders each offering a selection of trinkets for a bargain price. Blaby Antiques Centre is another great option for people who enjoy hunting for antiques and something more unique.

Restaurants in Leicestershire

Leicestershire has a vibrant selection of delicious restaurants and eateries covering every cuisine you can imagine. However, it's particularly renowned for its diverse South Asian food scene, with Leicester celebrated as the Curry Capital of the UK.

Whether you're looking for authentic Gujarati street food, speciality Punjabi dishes, or traditional curries, you'll have an abundance of choice. My Delhi is considered one of the best Indian restaurants in the county, serving a variety of New Delhi-inspired dishes, and is a great choice for an evening out.

Our new homes in Leicestershire are also never far from a great selection of pubs, with the oldest in the area being The Belper Arms in Newton Burgoland, and which claims to date back to 1290. It’s also considered one of the most haunted pubs in the county!

The Griffin Inn, a gastro pub in Charnwood, is another must-visit eatery. Owned by former England and Nottinghamshire cricketers Stuart Broad and Harry Gurney, it won Pub of the Year in 2023 and 2024 and is a favourite among locals.

As for special occasions, Sapori is not to be missed. Owned by Michelin star chef Andrea Scarpati, this Italian restaurant is dedicated to serving diners with authentic, delicious dishes using only the best ingredients.
