Living in Barrhead

The popular town of Barrhead, East Renfrewshire, has a choice of supermarkets, shops, pubs and leisure facilities on the doorstep.

Close to bustling Glasgow, historic Paisley and beautiful countryside, Barrhead is ideal for a blend of rural and urban living.

On the doorsteps of Glasgow and Paisley, and at the foot of the picturesque Fereneze Hills, is the eighteenth-century textile town, Barrhead.

Situated just north of the town is Silverburn Shopping Centre, which boasts a cinema and an extensive selection of the best high-street retailers and restaurants. As well as this, Main Street in Barrhead has a healthy selection of shops, bars and eateries to suit a wide range of needs.

There’s plenty of excellent schools found within the town, such as Cross Arthurlie Primary School, St John’s Primary School, Barrhead High School and St Luke’s High School.

In and around the town there’s plenty to do. There’s the Barrhead Foundry centre which combines leisure, learning and business.

Also present is historic landmark Arthurlie Cross, as well as outstanding greenery in the shape of Gleniffer Braes Country Park and Fereneze Golf Course.

Further afield, you can experience grand Edwardian country home, Pollock House and Garden, and the Burrell Collection art museum, as well as Hampden Park and Ibrox stadiums and central Glasgow’s attractions, all within a nine-mile radius.

For commuters, the train from Barrhead to Glasgow central takes under 20 minutes or around 25 minutes by car to the city centre.
