Regional Development Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Regional Development Manager to join our Regional Development team based in Nottingham.

Key duties and requirements

  • Assisting in the evaluation & appraisal of development opportunities, providing assistance on housing mix & relevant design constraints, project specific inputs that contribute into layout designs and the provision of information & technical solutions to accompany the land identification and initial evaluation process through to the land purchase process.
  • Managing consulting engineers and other external consultants & agencies in the delivery of cost-effective design solutions.
  • Providing effective management, oversight, support and coaching of the Regional Development coordinator.
  • Ensuring utilities providers provide design & cost proposals through to appointment, there is effective monitoring and recording of onsite works.
  • Coordinating and managing project meetings with consultants and other departments in a timely & efficient manner, ensuring all relevant action points are noted and recorded.
  • Management of the pre-distribution of information and taking of minutes from all meetings together with updated programmes / status reports taking action to ensure that project deliverables are met and actions is taken to resolve or mitigate current or anticipated issues.
  • Managing the delivery of key information, reports, assessments/status updates, activity analysis & recommendations in relation to the delivery of efficient technical solutions and all regional technical matters to ensure land purchase, planning, pre-start preparations, build activity and commercial value is optimised.
  • Working in collaboration with the Regional Planning Manager to negotiate where necessary with Statutory Authorities, Local Planning Authorities, Consultants etc. to ensure projects achieve the set objectives and programmes.

We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Regional Development Manager who can positively influence & enhance the profitability and operating effectiveness of the business. You will be seen as a technical matters expert and an effective business/project delivery manager.

Attention to detail and business acumen are key to success within this role. You must also be able to demonstrate excellent management, negotiation and team working skills. Previous experience as either within project support or a discipline expert within a development organisation is also required.

To be considered for this role you must also possess;

  • Good knowledge of the full development/technical process.
  • Ability to create and manage programmes following and delivering critical path requirements.
  • Previous experience as either a project or a discipline expert within a development organisation.
  • Relevant broad base of role during career, probably all or most developer based.
  • Wide and forward thinker / rational thinker.
  • Ability to work and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Well organised and capable of organising and project managing others.
  • Able to manage people, processes and time.
  • Strong team player with an energetic outlook.
  • Working knowledge/experience of engineering and CDM regulations.
