Here’s a list of some of the best restaurants in Chesterfield.

Sicily Restaurant

Sicily is a family-run restaurant with the menu made up of authentic family recipes and famous amongst locals for having the best Sicilian food. 

The menu consists of homemade pasta, risotto and pizza dishes and a children’s menu is also available. 

Sicily is the perfect place for a romantic meal, or a family get together and the restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. 

Afat’s Grill

Afat’s Grill is a Turkish restaurant offering South East Anatolian cuisine. You can choose from a selection of hot and cold dishes including several fish, beef and vegetarian options as well as a number of traditional desserts including Keskul and Baklava.

Afat’s is open between Tuesday and Sunday, from noon-11pm.

Lombardi’s

Awarded ‘Restaurant of the Year’ honours at the Chesterfield Food and Drinks awards in 2019, Lombardi’s is an authentic Italian family-owned restaurant, open from 5pm until 10pm, Monday - Saturday.

In 2020 they added the Giardino Room to their restaurant, a lounge sort of space that can also be rented out for events. 

As well as offering a wide selection of traditional Italian food, Lombardi’s also offers a number of vegan options as well as a children’s menu. 

Odyssey

Odyssey is a Greek family run restaurant, offering an extensive list of traditional Greek dishes from salads and dips to cheese boards and seafood dishes.

There are several dining areas within the restaurant including The Garden Area - which has a traditional Greek outdoor garden feel to it, The Dining Booth – a private 7-person booth, and finally The Dining Kitchen, which resembles a homely kitchen. 

Open from Tuesday to Sunday, Odyssey’s opening and closing times vary from day to day so make sure you keep on top of their schedule before heading over. 

Chesters

Chesters is known for their award-winning fish and chips, earning Restaurant of the Year honours in 2021 by the readers of the Derbyshire Times. 

They have also won several other Derbyshire Times awards over the years including Business of the Year in 2017 and the Family Friendly Award 4 times between 2015 and 2018.

However, if fish and chips aren’t for you, don’t worry, Chesters also offers jacket potatoes, burgers, several vegetarian options, and more. 

The George

The George is a country pub, located in one of the oldest buildings in Clay Cross which has recently been refurbished. 

They have a wide selection of food with a dinner & tapas menu consisting of homemade soups, burgers, fish options and so much more. There’s also a children’s menu available as well as a lunch menu available from 12-2:30pm. 

The pub allows dogs in the bar area and outside patio, with dog treats and water available.

Cocina

Cocina is a restaurant located in Casa hotel, offering British food with a Spanish twist. 

The restaurant offers a number of scintillating starters including Chorizo and Smoked Bacon & Cheddar croquettes. For your main dish you can choose between having one of their signature main dishes or something off the grill, like a steak or burger. 

Most of the ingredients used in their dishes are sourced directly from the owners’ farm, Walton Lodge.

The Three Horseshoes

A traditional English pub providing great food, beer and entertainment. 
The pub has a breakfast menu available from 10am-12pm, which includes a full English breakfast, sarnies, lighter options, and more. 
From 12:30pm-2:30pm there is a lunch menu where you can get 2 dishes for £14. 
The main menu is available the majority of the day except between 2:30pm - 5pm, and includes a number of starters, pub classics, vegetarian options, and more. 
They pub also regularly hosts several weekly events including an open mic night, quiz nights, live entertainment, and so much more. 

Bottle & Thyme 

A family run, independent restaurant and bar in the heart of Chesterfield. Serving a fresh, local, organic, seasonal menu from breakfast through to evening meals. A casual nook with a warm, rustic vibe.

The owners are extremely passionate about doing their bit to build a more sustainable future. They invest in good quality materials and reuse all packaging where possible to avoid waste.

Thai Thai Restaurant

Owned and managed by Chairat Kongkasmut, Thai Thai deliver a unique, superb dining experience, in authentic surroundings, where you will be met with the best of service.
