Whether you already live locally or you’re thinking about making Scunthorpe home, knowing where to go for good food can make the area feel even more familiar. From reliable spots for an easy midweek meal to places worth booking for birthdays, date nights and weekend plans, Scunthorpe restaurants offer plenty of choice for all kinds of occasions. Below, we’ve rounded up a few local favourites worth trying.

VOLA Social Club

VOLA Social Club is the kind of place that’s just as suited to a casual dinner with friends as it is to a special occasion or celebratory night out.

Originally a more traditional pizzeria, it’s now become one of the most popular Italian restaurants in Scunthorpe, with a revamped menu that blends Italian inspiration with Mediterranean flavours. The result is a dining experience that feels familiar yet fresh, with excitement in every bite.

You’ll find comforting classics like spaghetti carbonara, arancini, and wood-fired pizzas, alongside dishes such as grilled seabream and chicken supreme with Mediterranean ragu. The drinks menu is just as tempting with plenty of wines, cocktails, and martinis to enjoy with your meal.

Pritam’s Tandoor Kitchen

For fragrant spices, sizzling grills, and a modern take on the traditional curry house, Pritam’s Tandoor Kitchen is a must-visit. This family run restaurant specialises in North Indian cuisine and takes its name from the owner’s grandfather, Pritam, who originated from Punjab, India. This family connection sits at the heart of the restaurant, with dishes inspired by Punjabi cooking.

Alongside iconic curries and tandoori dishes, you’ll find more playful options such as keema-topped fries, naan pizzas, and Punjabi-inspired burgers. This varied menu makes it a great choice for diners who might not usually choose curry, while still catering for those who love rich, aromatic Indian flavours.

The Orangery Restaurant at Cleatham Hall

If you’re looking for somewhere a little more refined, The Orangery Restaurant at Cleatham Hall is one of the best restaurants in Scunthorpe, offering a beautiful setting for lunch, dinner, and afternoon tea. Set within a Grade II Palladian mansion in the North Lincolnshire countryside, it’s a charming choice for occasions that call for something special.

The menu changes with the seasons, helping to showcase fresh flavours and quality ingredients throughout the year. While dishes vary, you can often expect comforting British classics such as Sunday roasts, pie and mash, and homemade sticky toffee pudding, all served overlooking the hall’s impressive gardens.

Lalezar

Owned and run by chef Suleyman Koca, Lalezar celebrates Turkish recipes and punchy flavours in a vibrant, welcoming setting. Each dish is designed as a tribute to Turkey’s cultural heritage, with fresh ingredients, traditional techniques, and generous hospitality at the centre of every dining experience.

The menu is brimming with delicious dishes bursting with colour, inviting everyone at the table to dig in including aromatic mezze platters, spiced kebabs, and smoky grilled meats.

For anyone looking for nice restaurants in Scunthorpe with interesting flavours and a warm atmosphere, this is one to add to the list.

San Pietro

Owned and run by Sicilian-born Pietro Catalano, San Pietro is shaped by a deep passion for Italian food that comes from generations of family cooking.

Set inside a windmill, giving it a truly unique character before you’ve even sat down, it’s been a part of Scunthorpe’s skyline for over 20 years. Inside, rustic and elegant décor creates a space that feels both polished and intimate.

The food itself is full of depth and indulgence, with dishes such as Sicilian aubergine parmigiana, handmade wild garlic, ricotta and spinach agnolotti pasta.

Despite its humble location, San Pietro has also earned plenty of recognition, including Best Restaurant of the Year at the 2022 Lincolnshire Life Taste of Excellence Awards.

Dalgona Korean Kitchen

One of the more unique Scunthorpe restaurants is Dalgona Korean Kitchen, which brings flavours from the streets of Seoul straight to North Lincolnshire.

Having originally opened as a small service counter with a handful of tables, it’s since expanded to meet the ever-growing demand from diners wanting to try something new.

The menu blends homestyle Korean dishes with more street-food favourites like colourful Bento boxes, cheesy corndogs, and other dishes brimming with sweet, spicy, and umami-rich tastes.

DOM

The final restaurant on our list is DOM, a neighbourhood eatery built on craftsmanship and expressive flavours. Its name means ‘home’ in Polish; a nod to patron chef Slawek’s roots and the philosophy that underpins the food offering.

What makes DOM particularly special is its zero-waste approach and deep respect for ingredients. The team uses locally sourced produce wherever possible, working with farmers to highlight the quality of ingredients available in the area.

Because of this, the menu changes frequently to reflect seasonality and availability, making the most of ingredients when they are at their best, and meaning each visit can feel slightly different.

While it isn’t yet one of the Michelin star restaurants Scunthorpe has to offer, it’s been highly regarded by Michelin for its quality.
