The most prestigious accolade in Scottish housebuilding was awarded to Avant for its exceptional growth and ambition and strong portfolio of developments. Avant were also finalists in a further six categories.
Avant Homes Scotland managing director, David Knight, said: “It is a huge honour to be named Large Housebuilder of the Year at the Scottish Home Awards. The last 12 months have been one of exceptional, record-breaking growth for Avant Homes.
“Our upward trajectory and positive momentum is ongoing as the group works towards its next milestone of doubling output to 4,000 homes a year and becoming a £1bn turnover housebuilder by 2023.
“As a business, we challenge convention and are constantly seeking opportunities to innovate within the housebuilding sector. We have further boosted our sales by rolling out a new interior specification this year, along with an extended product range that offers a wider selection of size and price options to prospective buyers.
“Our teams work extremely hard to ensure our product, service and customer experience is good, better and different. This award recognises both our approach and the outstanding commitment of our people.”
The event is sponsored and supported by one of Scotland’s largest property management firms, Ross and Liddell. A record 68 housebuilding companies entered this year’s awards and the glittering awards ceremony in Edinburgh saw almost 600 guests in attendance.
For the year ended 27 April 2018, Avant Homes announced revenues up 21 per cent to £447m driven by rapid growth in completions and a continued increase in its private average selling price. The business achieved 1,903 total completions, up 16 per cent compared with the prior year. It now has 71 active outlets compared to 50 at the same point last year and a strong forward order book totalling £163m.
