Councillors backed officers’ recommendations and signed off the reserved matters approval for the layout, appearance, scale and landscaping of four parcels of residential land where Avant Homes will deliver a mixture selection of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties along with 66 affordable homes.

The proposed housing design mix will vary across Avant Homes’ Original housetype range and its new Bridge range, which has been specifically designed to bridge the market for aspirational and attainable homes, offering greater choice and wider affordability to buyers.

This is the sixth site Avant Homes has acquired from Harworth Estates in the last five years, with previous successful developments in Wakefield, Sheffield and Pontefract.

Work on the development is set to commence in April 2019, with the overall build expected to take five and a half years. The show village will be completed by October 2019 and the first properties ready for occupation towards the end of the year.

Set within the National Forest, the wider Cadley Park development will deliver 600 new homes, and includes a country park, a golf course and 4,000 sq ft of commercial/leisure development that includes a family pub.
