Supporting the Director / Senior Land Manager to lead, develop, agree, implement and deliver the Region’s land acquisition requirements via the management, control and reporting of all land acquisition/procurement matters to meet the Region’s business plan and future growth requirements.
• Take a ‘whole company’ perspective to the performance of the regional business by positively influencing and enhancing the profitability and operating effectiveness of the business. • Assist in the management of the land department ensuring the effective compliance, control and deployment of all available land and planning teams and report as per Group policies and processes to meet Region’s business plan. • Source and secure land effectively for the immediate, short and medium term via the development of agent contacts; planning leads, methods of formal and informal tender and ‘off market’ land procurement. • Manage the preparation and presentation of land offers, the negotiation of best possible terms, identifying the most effective route of procurement both from a legal and planning perspective. • Assist in achieving planning approvals, working with third-party providers and with internal departments. • Achieve and maintain a high profile with external property contacts, working relationships with local authorities, local agents, land owners and other developers within the Region’s operating area. • Engage in the process of determining, agreeing and delivering site start programmes and development programmes within agreed timescales. • Actively manage communications and operational interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the Regional business plan. • Provide effective and relevant legal documentation for each development or phase of development. • Authorise and commit expenditure up to the Group approval limit. • Ensure that the Company maximises its compliance with Group product and specification. • At all times comply with responsibilities under the Company’s Health and Safety and Environmental and Corporate Responsibility Policies and all other company policies, procedures and instructions • Any other duties as reasonably required.

Who are we looking for?
• A relevant qualification or good experience in land acquisition, procurement and management. • A good network of proven contacts with track record of delivery. • A good understanding of the legal and planning frameworks associated with land acquisition and development procurement. • Good Technical and legal knowledge and Financial / Commercial awareness • Good awareness of codes of practice that impact on land acquisition and planning matters e.g. Planning Policy, Systems and Frameworks, both locally and regionally, land purchase and disposal legal models, structures and mechanisms
